The LG UltraGear 27GS75Q (27GS75Q-B owing to the mainly black rear) offers such an experience. The screen includes a ‘penguin foot’ stand base with dark matte finish used for the stand and bottom bezel. The bottom bezel also includes a protruding area which houses some of the electronics. A 27″ 2560 x 1440 (QHD or 1440p) IPS-type panel is used, with 180Hz (200Hz OC) refresh rate and Adaptive-Sync. This allows VRR technologies such as Nvidia ‘G-SYNC Compatible’ and AMD FreeSync to be used. A matte anti-glare screen surface is adopted – whilst a 1000:1 static contrast ratio, 178°/178° viewing angles and 8-bit colour are specified (10-bit+ supported via scaler dithering). A flicker-free WLED backlight provides a 99% sRGB colour gamut and 300 cd/m² typical maximum luminance. Basic HDR10 support is included, though the monitor lacks a high brightness, specified local dimming or wide enough gamut for a proper HDR experience. A 1ms grey to grey response time is specified (pinch of salt required), whilst a tilt, pivot and height adjustable stand is included.
